About Kenan Corporation, Founded in 2010

Kenan Corporation is an HVAC company in north St. Louis County, founded in 2010 by a technician who was tired of hard-sell pitches. This page covers who started it, who runs it, how we work and what we have not yet put on the site.

Kenan Corporation exists because its founder did not like how the HVAC trade had started to sell. Kenan Bruce Martz started the company in 2010 after more than 20 years at St. Louis area HVAC companies, where he saw hard-sell pitches and commission goals push people toward new equipment they might not need. He set out to bring honesty, fairness and trust back to the work. The rule since then is simple: we would rather repair your system than pressure you into a new one.

Diagnosis starts with measuring, which is why the bench tools matter more than the sales pitch.

Who runs Kenan Corporation today?

Kenan Perkins is the owner. He studied at Ranken Technical College, and the BBB profile for the company lists him in that role. Kenan Bruce Martz began it, and Kenan Perkins carries the same repair-first approach forward. The company serves home and business owners, residential and light commercial, and its listed services include HVAC installation, furnace and AC maintenance, boiler service and light commercial HVAC. Water heater installation and drain cleaning are also listed.

Formal training in the trades starts with reading drawings and measuring before building.

A furnace or air conditioner is one of the most expensive things in a home, and most owners cannot judge a diagnosis themselves. That gap is where pressure sales grow. Our answer is to explain the failed part in plain language, put the repair next to the replacement and let you decide. Sometimes the replacement wins, and we say so.

Where do we work?

We work from a base at 927 Broadhead Lane, St. Louis, MO 63138, in the Spanish Lake area of north St. Louis County. We travel across St. Louis County, St. Charles County, Jefferson County and Franklin County. Drive times from the base run from about 5 minutes to about 2 hours, so the service areas page lists each town with its time. We are open 24 hours, and we offer same-day service when the schedule allows.

How do we work on a job?

The same way every time. We diagnose before replacing parts, explain the problem in plain language, and give you options. You get a clear, upfront quote before work starts. After a repair we check what else is working. Before sizing new equipment we run a load calculation, and we recommend a repair when a repair makes sense.

Customers on Google describe that habit in their own words. One reviewer wrote that Kenan Corporation is "Great at explaining things and giving you options." Another found no new capacitor in the unit despite being told one had been installed, and the fan motor turned out to be failing. Our HVAC contractor page walks through the whole process, from diagnosis to final inspection.

Explaining the problem in plain language means showing the part, not just naming it.

What do the reviews and ratings say?

Kenan Corporation holds a 4.6★ rating from 29 Google reviews, checked in October 2026. The BBB gives the company an A+ rating on its profile. It is not BBB accredited. BBB says customer reviews are not used in its letter grade. The reviews page shows every written Google review supplied, including the critical ones.

What is not shown on this site yet?

A few things you may reasonably want to see are not on this site yet, and we would rather say so than imply them. We have not published a license number, proof of insurance, technician certifications or written warranty terms here. Missouri has no statewide HVAC license, and the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County license contractors separately, so ask us, or any contractor, for the license number that applies to your address and verify it with the issuing office.

We have also not published job photographs or named technicians beyond the owner and the founder. If you need any of these before you decide, call and ask. We would rather you ask than guess.

Kenna did an amazing job! I had another company come out and told me I needed a new furnace because my heat was not coming on. Previous company said could be the motor/fan and that would cost $650, which I was ok with. They didn’t check any parts, but was ready to say I should just get a new heating and cooling unit. I knew my neighbor had service done by Kenyan and said he did a great job. He came out and found it was a capacitor that was causing the issue and fixed it. He is awesome and definitely if I need help again, he will be called and I will use his services!

We placed an emergency call to Kenan and within 12 hrs he arrived, prepared and ready to go. Extremely courteous and pleasant. Knew exactly what the issue was, replaced the item and checked to see if everything else was working properly. Great job, very competitive pricing and best of all great communicator before, during and after the job. Well done sir! We’ll definitely be call you in the future.
