HVAC Guides for St. Louis Homeowners
These HVAC guides answer the questions St. Louis homeowners ask before they pick up the phone: what to do when a system fails, what repairs cost, and when to repair or replace. Each one is written for local housing and weather.

Guides are grouped by what you are trying to do: handle an emergency, understand a cost, solve a symptom, choose between options, or get ahead of a season. Cost figures come from named third parties and are dated, because Kenan Corporation does not publish prices in articles.
If a guide describes your problem, the service page linked at its end explains how we diagnose and fix it. If it does not, call. We are open 24 hours, and we offer same-day service when the schedule allows.
Safety first: if you smell gas, leave the house before doing anything else, touch no switches and call 911 or Spire's St. Louis line at 800-887-4173 from outside.
Which guide should you read first?
Start from the situation you are in, not the season.
- The system just failed. Read no heat at night or what to do when your AC stops in a heat wave for the safe steps before a technician arrives.
- You are weighing a price. AC repair cost, furnace replacement cost and the Missouri rebate guide separate published ranges from what changes your own quote.
- You are deciding between options. Repair or replace an old AC, heat pump vs furnace and ductless vs central air lay out the trade-offs.
- The house is old. Cooling a brick home without ducts and radiators or forced air fit the City's housing stock.
- You manage a building. The property manager checklist and rooftop unit planning guide cover light commercial equipment.
How do these guides handle prices and claims?
Every figure names its source and year, such as Angi's 2026 St. Louis labor range or Ameren Missouri's 2026 rebate chart. Third-party numbers are market ranges, never a quote from Kenan Corporation. Where the right answer is repair, the guide says so, because the company was founded in 2010 on the rule that we would rather repair your system than pressure you into a new one.

The best in the business!!! So nice, great communication, quick and straight to the point. I can’t recommend Kenan enough!!!
Kenna did an amazing job! I had another company come out and told me I needed a new furnace because my heat was not coming on. Previous company said could be the motor/fan and that would cost $650, which I was ok with. They didn’t check any parts, but was ready to say I should just get a new heating and cooling unit. I knew my neighbor had service done by Kenyan and said he did a great job. He came out and found it was a capacitor that was causing the issue and fixed it. He is awesome and definitely if I need help again, he will be called and I will use his services!
We placed an emergency call to Kenan and within 12 hrs he arrived, prepared and ready to go. Extremely courteous and pleasant. Knew exactly what the issue was, replaced the item and checked to see if everything else was working properly. Great job, very competitive pricing and best of all great communicator before, during and after the job. Well done sir! We’ll definitely be call you in the future.
