Heating and Cooling in O'Fallon, MO
Heating and cooling in O'Fallon, MO means St. Charles County, not the Illinois town of the same name, and a drive of about 50 minutes from our base near Spanish Lake. The city grew fast after 1990, so the original furnaces and air conditioners are now wearing out.

O'Fallon in St. Charles County had 91,316 residents at the 2020 census. It sits 31 miles from our Broadhead Lane base, a trip of about 50 minutes in normal traffic, so please call before you expect anyone on site.
1990s and 2000s subdivisions: when the first system gives out
O'Fallon had 18,698 residents in 1990 and 46,169 in 2000, then 79,329 in 2010, per census figures. The city now has 34,426 housing units, and nearly all of that growth came after 1990, so first-generation equipment is the norm here. A furnace or condenser put in during 2004 is now at the 15-20 year range contractors cite as typical life.

Newer homes still fail in predictable ways. Capacitors weaken, contactors pit, and evaporator coils collect dust in a house that has run its AC every summer since move-in.
What do O'Fallon homeowners ask us about most?

AC Replacement
O'Fallon went from 18,698 residents in 1990 to 79,329 in 2010, and condensers installed during that boom are now in the 15-20 year range.

AC Maintenance
A spring check on a 12 to 15 year old condenser is the time to catch a weak capacitor before the first 90-degree week.
Learn more →
Furnace Replacement
Furnaces that came with a house built in the 2000s are reaching the age where a repair bill and a replacement quote deserve a side-by-side look.
Learn more →
Heat Pump Installation
Heat pump rebates depend on whether Ameren Missouri or Cuivre River Electric Cooperative sends your electric bill, and both serve customers inside the city, so read the bill before you read a quote.
Learn more →
Furnace Repair
Most of O'Fallon's 34,426 homes went up after 1990, so furnace calls are usually igniters, flame sensors and inducer motors on first-generation units, where a repair quote comes first.
Learn more →
AC Repair
The city added a net 5,050 housing units between 2010 and 2020, so many condensers are under sixteen years old, where a failed capacitor or contactor is the likelier fault than a dead compressor.
Learn more →Net housing gains in the 2010s: where the newest systems are
The census counted 29,376 housing units in O'Fallon in 2010 and 34,426 in 2020, a net gain of 5,050 units, about 15 percent of today's total, with 2.9 percent vacant. Those homes have furnaces and condensers under sixteen years old, while the 1990s and 2000s streets nearby are on equipment in the 15-20 year range.
So one city holds two repair profiles. A young system gets a repair quote first. An older one gets the repair and replacement quotes side by side, with the age of the compressor and coil in the conversation. The Census Bureau's 2023 estimate of 94,074 residents suggests more of both are coming.
Ameren or Cuivre River? Check the electric bill first
A Missouri Public Service Commission filing says Ameren Missouri holds a franchise with O'Fallon and that Cuivre River Electric Cooperative also serves customers inside the city limits. That matters for money. Ameren's 2026 chart, valid until December 31, pays $2,000 per system for qualifying air-source heat pumps and $500 per ton for 19+ SEER2 mini-splits, but only for Ameren customers, and a participating contractor files the paperwork. Spire supplies natural gas to most of the county, and Spire's own page tells customers to confirm service by address.

I-64, I-70 and the parks: finding the house
Interstates 64 and 70 both cross O'Fallon, at an elevation of about 614 feet, and its ZIP codes are 63366 and 63368. The city is the farthest of the three big St. Charles County cities from our base, about 50 minutes against 35 to St. Charles and 45 to St. Peters.
Landmarks help on the phone. O'Fallon Sports Park covers 95 acres, Ozzie Smith Sports Complex 76, Westhoff Park 65 and Dames Park 59. Give us the nearest park or cross street along with the address.
From Highway K to Tom Ginnever: how we handle a call out here
You describe the symptom, we tell you the schedule, and a technician diagnoses before replacing anything. The quote is clear and upfront, in writing, before work starts. Kenan Bruce Martz founded the company in 2010 after 20-plus years at St. Louis area HVAC companies, and a repair comes up first whenever it makes sense.
Small project, next-day inspection: how an HVAC permit runs here
The Building Division lists "HVAC Replacement" among its small projects. Applications and inspections go through the CitizenServe portal, where you register for a free account, and the city says inspections are typically completed the next day. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The city also notes that independent fire districts serve different parts of O'Fallon and may require their own building permit. Ask the installer which districts apply to your address, and have the quote name who files each permit.
Permits and license numbers in O'Fallon
The Building Division, 636-379-5660, says permits are required for repairs to mechanical systems. City code asks for the licensed subcontractor's name and license number on permit applications. Ask the Building Division which license it expects, and ask any contractor for that number. Our AC replacement page covers sizing and what a written quote should say, and our heat pump installation page covers the rebate details.

Is this O'Fallon, Missouri or O'Fallon, Illinois?
It is O'Fallon, Missouri, in St. Charles County. The drive is about 50 minutes from our base near Spanish Lake in normal traffic, roughly 31 miles, so call first. We are open 24 hours, and we offer same-day service when the schedule allows.
Does every O'Fallon homeowner qualify for Ameren Missouri rebates?
No. Ameren's 2026 chart, valid through December 31, covers only Ameren customers and requires a participating contractor. A Missouri PSC filing says Cuivre River Electric Cooperative also serves customers inside O'Fallon, so look at the name on your electric bill before planning around a rebate.
My AC from a 2000s O'Fallon house is failing. Replace it or repair it?
Repair first if the fault is a part such as a capacitor or contactor, and think about replacement once a unit is past 15-20 years or a compressor or coil is failing. A technician should diagnose, explain the cause and quote both options in writing so you can compare.

The best in the business!!! So nice, great communication, quick and straight to the point. I can’t recommend Kenan enough!!!
Kenna did an amazing job! I had another company come out and told me I needed a new furnace because my heat was not coming on. Previous company said could be the motor/fan and that would cost $650, which I was ok with. They didn’t check any parts, but was ready to say I should just get a new heating and cooling unit. I knew my neighbor had service done by Kenyan and said he did a great job. He came out and found it was a capacitor that was causing the issue and fixed it. He is awesome and definitely if I need help again, he will be called and I will use his services!
