Wentzville is one of our longer runs. It is about 1 hour 5 minutes from our Broadhead Lane base in normal traffic, so a service visit here takes planning on both ends. If you call early and describe the problem, we can tell you whether a visit fits the day.
From 7,058 to 44,372 residents: what the growth did to local systems
Census figures show Wentzville at 7,058 people in 2000, 29,070 in 2010 and 44,372 in 2020, with 15,316 housing units counted in 2020. Most homes here are 21st-century builds. The older end of that range, the 2005-2012 houses, now has its first furnace and condenser at 14 to 20 years, which is the age when contractors start discussing replacement.

A 2024 estimate puts the city at 48,646 residents, so building along the I-70 corridor has not stopped, and new homes keep arriving. The newest streets have the opposite problem. A system a few years old rarely needs replacing, but a drain line, a thermostat wire or a control board can still fail. GM Wentzville Assembly, a full-size van and small truck plant, is the city's major employer, and the City's 2020 financial report counted 3,399 people on its payroll.
Average household of 3.0: what a full house does to a condensate line
The 2020 census counted 14,939 households in Wentzville with an average size of 3.0 and a median age of 34.6. More people in a house means more showers, laundry and cooking, and every bit of that moisture ends up in the air your AC has to pull out. The condensate drain is where it shows. A line that is slowly clogging with algae gives no warning until water stains a ceiling or a safety switch shuts the system off in July. Ask for the drain to be cleared and tested at every cooling checkup, even on a house that is only a few years old.
What Wentzville homeowners call us about

AC Replacement
Wentzville grew from 7,058 residents in 2000 to 29,070 in 2010, so many condensers installed during that surge are now 14 to 20 years old and nearing the replacement conversation.

AC Maintenance
Young landscaping leaves many newer Wentzville lots with condensers in full afternoon sun, which makes a spring coil cleaning, a drain check and a charge check worthwhile before the first hot week.
Learn more →
Furnace Installation
Where a Wentzville lot sits beyond a gas main, the fuel choice between propane, electric and natural gas comes before the furnace choice, and it changes the equipment, the quote and the running cost.
Learn more →
Heat Pump Installation
Which rebates apply depends on whether Ameren Missouri or Cuivre River Electric Cooperative sends your bill, and the City lists both as electric providers, so Wentzville addresses can fall on either side.
Learn more →
AC Repair
Houses built in the 2005 to 2012 surge are reaching the age where capacitors, contactors and fan motors fail, and a diagnosis can often fix a Wentzville AC without replacing the condenser.
Learn more →
Furnace Repair
A furnace on a Wentzville lot with propane runs on a different gas train than a natural gas unit, so ignition and pressure faults are diagnosed against the fuel the house actually burns.
Learn more →
Thermostat Installation
Wentzville's newest houses ship with builder thermostats, and a failed wire, a stuck call for heat or a mismatched replacement is a cheaper fix than most owners expect from a new home.
Learn more →Planning a 1 hour 5 minute run: how scheduling works
Call and tell us the symptom, the age of the system and what you have already tried. The technician diagnoses before replacing parts, explains the cause in plain language and gives a clear, upfront quote before work begins. Founder Kenan Bruce Martz built the company around that approach in 2010.

Propane, electric or gas: choosing a fuel past the main
On a lot beyond a gas main, the first question is what the house will burn, not which furnace to buy. Propane means a tank, a delivery contract and a furnace set up for that fuel. An air-source heat pump runs on electricity alone, and a dual-fuel setup keeps a gas or propane furnace as backup for the coldest nights. Ameren's 2026 chart pays $2,000 per system for qualifying air-source heat pumps in dual-fuel, electric-resistance-replacement and no-existing-central-system cases, but only to Ameren customers using a participating contractor. We do not claim participation, so check the contractor list before you sign.
The 2021 mechanical code and the 180-day permit clock
Wentzville's building codes page lists the 2021 International Mechanical Code, the 2021 International Residential Code and the 2021 International Fuel Gas Code. A replacement here is installed to those editions, not to whatever the builder put in. The permit page adds a clock: a permit is shown as expired if no inspection happens within the first 180 days, or within 180 days of the last one. Once a permit is paid for and issued, inspections are booked through the portal, so ask the installer to keep that booking on the calendar if equipment arrives late.
City license, SmartGov permits and utilities in Wentzville
The City of Wentzville requires a contractor license renewed every year by February 28, and since February 23, 2026, building permit applications go through the SmartGov portal. The Building Division is at 1001 Schroeder Creek Blvd., and the number is (636) 327-5101. HVAC work is listed among the permits it handles. Get the permit-puller's name into the quote.
Check your electric bill for the utility name before counting on any rebate. The City's utilities page lists Ameren or Cuivre River for electricity, and it still uses the older Ameren UE name. Spire serves many addresses with natural gas, and lots without a main use propane or electric heat. Our AC replacement and furnace installation pages explain sizing and fuel choices.

Learn more →Heating and Cooling in Wentzville: common questions
How far is Wentzville from your Broadhead Lane base?
About 1 hour 5 minutes in normal traffic, roughly 40 miles, so Wentzville is one of the longer runs on our list. Call first and describe what the system is doing. We are open 24 hours, and we offer same-day service when the schedule allows.
Does Wentzville require HVAC contractors to be licensed?
Yes. Wentzville says contractors need a City license, renewed every year by February 28. Questions go to the City Clerk at (636) 327-5101. Ask any contractor, including us, for the Wentzville license number, and look at the written quote to see who pulls the permit.
Should I call the builder or an HVAC contractor about a newer Wentzville home?
Call the builder first if the home is only a year or two old, because builder or manufacturer terms may cover the system. Once those windows have passed, or the fault is clearly a worn part, an independent technician can diagnose and quote the repair.

The best in the business!!! So nice, great communication, quick and straight to the point. I can’t recommend Kenan enough!!!
Kenna did an amazing job! I had another company come out and told me I needed a new furnace because my heat was not coming on. Previous company said could be the motor/fan and that would cost $650, which I was ok with. They didn’t check any parts, but was ready to say I should just get a new heating and cooling unit. I knew my neighbor had service done by Kenyan and said he did a great job. He came out and found it was a capacitor that was causing the issue and fixed it. He is awesome and definitely if I need help again, he will be called and I will use his services!
